On pourrait le croire couturier de la légèreté, architecte de la féminité, designer de la nonchalance,
autant dire, créateur de mode qui aurait versé dans le futile à force de fantasmer les femmes.
Il faudrait vouloir mal connaître Julien Fournié ou chercher à l’ignorer pour en rester là.
Scienti que de formation, c’est son côté rationnel qui l’a d’abord emporté sur les valeurs artistiques
qui l’animent aujourd’hui. Tout au plus s’est-il autorisé, enfant et adolescent, à se torturer
les doigts sur les claviers des pianos, à se fatiguer les yeux sur les croches des partitions pendant
d’interminables heures, avant de tenter une mise en perspective sensible via la musicologie.
One could believe him a designer of lightness, an architect of femininity, a stylist of nonchalance
and a fashion creator who has lapsed into futility through fantasizing women. But you would
have to not really know or want to know Julien Fournié to claim such a thing. A trained scientist,
